Casa de Amistad was the selected winner for our 2023 Do Good Project. Casa de Amistad (in English, House of Friendship) is a nonprofit that works to make English accessible to immigrants, while also connecting them with Spanish- friendly resources to help them learn more about local opportunities.

Our rebrand of Casa focused on bringing excitement into their branding to reflect the energy and vibrancy of Athens’ local immigrant community. We wanted to include imagery of a house in the new logo, but create something custom that was reminiscent of Latin American artisan

The logo was inspired by imagery from papel picado and Guatemalan textiles. The simple house shape is easy to recognize, and is paired with a font by Stable that was inspired by hand painted Mexican signage. The logo is accompanied by a suite of symbols inspired by iconography from signage, textiles, and talavera tiles.

The brand kit was delivered with an extensive brand guidelines document highlighting treatment of collateral, design tips, and recommended fonts and colors. This document will help to make it easy for Casa to put out consistent graphics, especially since their team is primarily composed of interns and volunteers.
